April Ross

April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball players who have earned medals multiple times at an Olympics. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, a first-time Olympian. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. It may well be that it is her last opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. She is still confident, however. If we do our top or perform well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. Also, it's an issue of luck. Ross was born on the 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She lived there along with her entire family. At Newport Harbor High School, she played in a variety of sports. In addition to indoor volleyball, she was a basketball player and also ran track as a pre-collegiate athlete. But she clearly was an edge over the other players when it came to the second sport. According to her bio, she played an outside blocker as well as a middle hitter on the volleyball court throughout her time in high school. Gatorade Circle of Champions named her as the National Player 1999. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Although Ross and Klineman have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman had already been a major participant on the beaches prior to their team. Actually Ross has won a number of important tournaments throughout her career along with her two teammates. One of them is a legend. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until 2013. Also, she coached Klineman and herself. Together together with Kessy Ross was awarded the World Championship in 2009, while racing internationally. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They were beaten out for the gold by the legendary group comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she retired. Together, they won bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college years before becoming a professional. The time she spent at USC was impressive. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman Of The Year. She was also named an All-American. She was also one of the key players in helping the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. Over the course of her two final years with the Trojans, she helped them to win two consecutive titles. She had established herself as an all-time legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the highest ranked female volleyball player. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to witness her daughter's rise to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her both in and out of the water.
