Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist capable of effortlessly bridge the gap between pop and country music while sweeping the globe. Swift left her country roots as though they were part of her skin revealing that she was arguably the smartest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, one who could harness the zeitgeist make it personal and also perform in the opposite direction. The skills she displayed could be seen in her first tracks, including the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless released in 2008 Swift was able to discover who she is and find an audience that was large. Fearless became a massive success not only in the United States, where six of its singles have been certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and you Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. Swift was able to consolidate her popularity through Speak Now almost two year following. With the three subsequent albums (Reputation 2017, 1989 2014, and Red 2012) Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 along with Reputation 2017, Swift's success only grew. It was a clear sign she had moved to the new music scene that she could be part of. She was in the forefront of pop even when she dropped her signature style in her twin albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
