Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football with community service. He is the youngest child from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. They had him raised on the farm they owned in Eufala. Two, football. He is among the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy received the Outland & Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. In the three years that Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. In 1975, the National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in the college. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and was a member of the Buccaneers for nine seasons and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. The first job he had was an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being among the top 10 young men of the United States. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch higher and weighing in at the hefty 256 pounds at college when he was player, commanded his team throughout 1975. He joined his current position at University of South Florida as associate director of athletics. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame recognized him in 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented the Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. The award ceremony was conducted by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
